Recently, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Sichuan Provincial Health Commission, the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Sichuan Provincial Drug Administration jointly issued the "List of the Third Batch of Clinical Medical Research Centers in Sichuan Province". Our hospital, led by Professor Feng Ming, has officially approved the "Sichuan Clinical Medical Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology". This is after the "Sichuan Provincial Clinical Medical Research Center for Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases of Traditional Chinese Medicine" and "Sichuan Provincial Clinical Medical Research Center for Cardio cerebral Vascular disease of Traditional Chinese Medicine", our hospital has been established a provincial medical platform again, and our hospital has also become the only supporting unit of clinical medical research platform for TCM tumor in central and western China.
In the past five years, with the efforts of the oncology related professional technical team, significant progress has been made in the clinical, teaching, and scientific research of the oncology discipline. It has been approved for platform construction projects such as the National Regional Medical Center's output of characteristic specialties, the Sichuan Provincial Key Discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Sichuan Provincial Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Major Diseases of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Lung Cancer). The National Natural Science Foundation of China has received 17 funding projects, The Oncology Teaching and Research Office, as the first deputy editor in chief, completed the compilation of the national planning textbook "Integrating Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Oncology" for the 14th Five Year Plan.
The approval of the Sichuan Provincial Clinical Medical Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology will further leverage our hospital's leading and driving role in the clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine oncology, strengthen the construction of clinical medicine innovation platforms and networks, promote the improvement of traditional Chinese medicine service levels in our province, and help cultivate and create a national clinical medical research center. Our hospital will take the approval of the provincial-level Clinical Medical Research Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine Oncology as an opportunity, guided by clinical needs, closely focusing on construction goals and key tasks, focusing on solving major problems that restrict the development of the regional and even national traditional Chinese medicine tumor field, enhancing the prevention and treatment capabilities of malignant tumors and their radiation driving role, and assisting in the construction of a first-class traditional Chinese medicine hospital in the new era.
